When you receive your new touch screen encoder, all you have to do is connect the AC power, the Internet and an audio/video source (video camera or the output of your TV control room) and click the Start button.

YES, when you turn on the encoder, the encoder automatically downloads all your settings. When you are ready to record and/or broadcast LIVE, simply “Touch” the “Start” button on the touch screen built into the front of the encoder. When “Auto Stop” is enabled, the encoder will automatically stop itself. When “Auto Published” is enabled, the encoder will transfer/ upload, the video to one of Tech Werks broadcast centers and notifies Tech Werks “SMART” on-line management software of the new video. The management software then updates your HTML/Web pages, your RSS feed, send e-mails and send a “post” script to your web server.

When the encoder is turned on, it automatically connects to Tech Werks on-line database and downloads over 20 unique items from your on-line account. A few of these items are the Name, Description, Copyright, Rating and Author for the “Next” video you are about to record or broadcast live. It also downloads items like the type of codec to use, the compression profile for the encoding and even which broadcast center to use.

When you select to record  or record and broadcast Live your video, the video is recorded to the video hard drive in the encoder. When you press Stop on the encoder, you get the “Auto Publish” screen. You then can select, Yes or No to “Auto Publish”. If you press Yes, the video is uploaded / transferred from the encoder to one of Tech Werks Broadcast Centers. When the video has been successfully transferred, the encoder sends Tech Werks “SMART” on-line management software, all the video information pretending to the video that was just transferred. The “SMART” software then updates, your HTML/web page, your RSS feed, sends an e-mail (up to 4 e-mail addresses) and it can “Post” a Script to your web server.

You can manually, upload any video on the encoder and you can manually create a new video in Tech Werks “SMART” on-line management software.

Using Tech Werks “SMART” on-line management software, you can edit the video information, Name, Description, Copyright, Author and Rating. Auto Publish adds the date it was published and the video duration. These two items cannot be changed.

When you enable the “Auto Stop” feature, it automatically stops recording and/or stops broadcasting Live. You can set “Auto Stop” to STOP after recoding and/or broadcasting from 1 minute to 24 hours. You can also enable or disable “Auto Publish” after “Auto Stop” stops the recording and/or live broadcasting.

Tech Werks “SMART” on-line management software, dynamically generates two different HTML/web pages for each client. One web page is a list of all your on-demand videos and adds a “LIVE” link when you have started the encoder to broadcast “LIVE”. The second dynamic HTML/web page that is generated is a list of all your on-demand videos, a “LIVE” link and at the top of the web page is the client’s company name and address. This page could be used as your “Home” page.

No, the encoder requires a hard wire connection. Wi-Fi works well for normal Internet access; however it does have several limitations. The biggest limitation is bandwidth. With Wi-Fi, bandwidth is limited to the signal strength and the number of people using that Wi-Fi access point. To stream video you need a set bandwidth which Wi-Fi cannot do. Wi-Fi is also susceptible to interference. Under normal use, most people don’t see this problem; it just looks like the Internet is slow. But with streaming video, this interference can total stop the video from working.

Anytime you select an option that requires the use of a keyboard, an on-screen keyboard appears.
